Hi, I’m John Norton
For over a decade I worked the sales floor of recliner and furniture stores, helping customers find a chair that actually fit their body, their room, and their budget. In that time I set up, repaired, and sat in hundreds of recliners — from $200 push-button budget chairs to $5,000 power massage models. That daily hands-on experience is exactly what I bring to ReclinerClub.
I started this site because most recliner advice online is written by people who have never sat in the chairs they recommend. I have. I know which mechanisms hold up after a year of daily use, which “genuine leather” is really bonded vinyl, and why a $400 wall hugger can be a better buy than a $900 recliner that doesn’t fit your room.
What I actually do here
Every review and buying guide on ReclinerClub starts the same way: I research what real shoppers are asking, then I verify the products against live Amazon listings. I check the upholstery claims, the weight capacity, the recline mechanism, and the real-world fit — the things a good salesperson would tell you before you hand over your card.
I test what I can, verify the specs I can’t, and I’m always honest about the difference. If a chair has a weak point, I say so instead of hiding it in the pros column. You can read exactly how I research and test in every article.
Why you can trust my picks
A few things I will never do:
- I won’t recommend a chair I haven’t checked against a real listing. Every product I profile is a live Amazon listing I verified during the review.
- I won’t stretch the truth about materials. Bonded leather is bonded leather, not “genuine.” I call it what the manufacturer calls it.
- I won’t make medical claims. Massage chairs can help you relax, but no recliner “cures” anything. I stick to what a chair physically does.
- I won’t hide how the site makes money. ReclinerClub is reader-supported through Amazon affiliate links — when you buy through one of my links, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes my recommendation.
If you ever have a question about a specific chair or your own recliner situation, reach out on the contact page — I read every message and answer personally.
